Android lollipop is version of the Android mobile operating system and is developed by google. It become available on 12 November 2014 only for the selected devices that run distributions of Android services by Google. one of the most prominent change in the Android Lollipop release is Material Design which is a redesigned user interface built around a design language, which is made to retain a paper like felling. Other changes include displayed within a app as top of the screen banners and access to the notification from the lockscreen.

The code name “Android L” was first represented to Android 5.0, during the presentation at Google I?O developer conference. “Material Design” was dedicated as a part of presentation to a new cross platform design language. It is designed with the responsive animations, increased use of grid based layouts and padding, transitions and depth effects such as shadows and lighting. the Material Design language will not be used by Android only but also across Google suites of web software.
A refreshed notification was introduced by Android 5.0. Notifications are now displayed on cards to adhere to the material designed language. Notification are now displayed on lock screen as card. A new feature donot disturb also added for notifications. There is also a new platform for the developers in Android Lollipop. Android lollipop also aims for the battery consumption.
